Mission Statement

P.S. 065's Collaborative Mission 2023-2024

 

At P.S. 65, we are committed to the continuous improvement of providing equitable and cognitively enriched learning experiences through a culturally responsive and individualized approach. Our community of stakeholders are dedicated to fostering a nurturing environment that promotes excellence in student agency and achievement. We will accomplish this by:

  • Adapting our learning curricula to meet the strengths and needs of our diverse students to accelerate learning.
  • Integrating the Science of Reading to foster strong readers across grade levels. 
  • Implementing the Universal Design for Learning and differentiation to engage all learners and foster student outcomes.
  • Designing cycles of tiered adult learning to enhance pedagogical practices to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Strengthening Tier 1 instruction and MTSS to meet the needs of all learners based on varying readiness levels and learning styles to provide equitable access to core instruction.
  • Effectuating culturally responsive sustaining education and social emotional learning into all facets of our school community
  • Incorporating technology to promote curiosity and innovation.
  • Embracing student voice across the school community to foster engagement, accountability, and leadership.
  • Refining teacher pedagogy and instructional practices (Tier 1, Tier 2, MTSS) through ongoing cycles of data inquiry and professional learning communities 
  • Fostering continuous improvement through reflective practice
  • Engaging all stakeholders (teachers, students, families) in decision-making and school culture through our collaborative teams- CRSE, SEL, MTSS, PTA, SLT, Community Outreach, Parent Engagement
  • Eliminating chronic absenteeism to impact student progress.
  • Harnessing and sustaining the strengths of our community-based partnerships to impact student and family outcomes.

  • Progress monitoring our pedagogical practice, student achievement, and compliance initiatives through consistent, collaborative cycles.
